Faim Bistro – A Rooftop Haven in Banjara Hills

Nestled on a rooftop in the heart of Banjara Hills, Faim Bistro—named after the French word for “hunger”—is far more than just a place to eat. It’s a thoughtfully curated space for communities to gather, conversations to bloom, and creativity to flourish. Whether you’re looking to host an intimate event, perform on stage, or simply sip a cup of extraordinary coffee while soaking in the view, Faim Bistro delivers on all fronts.

The moment you step into the bistro, there’s a palpable warmth—not just in the ambience, but in the people behind it. The owners, Vamshi and Lahari, are the soul of this space. Their welcoming nature and personal involvement with guests make every visit memorable. It feels less like walking into a commercial space and more like being welcomed into a home.

What makes Faim truly stand out is its seamless blend of hospitality, versatility, and taste. Designed with community-building in mind, the bistro features a stage, projector with screen, and mic setup—making it ideal for open mics, poetry slams, music gigs, workshops, and private gatherings. The layout is open yet intimate, perfect for any group looking to connect, collaborate, or just chill during late evenings. There is also a small open space for smoke n chill.

Then there’s the food! It’s comfort served with flair. During our visit, we were treated to a delicious lineup: crispy fish fingers with a heavenly dip, a hearty chicken sandwich accompanied by fresh golden fries ( totally loved the fresh take on the fries which came with sour cream and onion flavoured topping powder ), and a specially curated kheema rice bowl that was rich, flavorful, comfortable and surprisingly mild—perfect for those who prefer their food without spice yet full of taste. Special care was taken keeping my taste buds in mind. Each dish reflected a strong attention to detail and balance in flavor.

Coffee lovers will find their haven here. The coffee menu is extraordinary, with selections that cater to both connoisseurs and casual drinkers. Every cup is brewed to perfection, whether you’re in the mood for a robust espresso or a comforting latte. The experience is elevated further with their desserts—artfully prepared and indulgent. The fresh mango dessert was a seasonal highlight: refreshing, light, and bursting with natural sweetness. The chocolate jar cake, on the other hand, was decadence in a jar—rich, moist, and utterly satisfying.

It’s rare to find a space that effortlessly merges the vibe of a creative venue with the heart of a neighborhood café. Faim Bistro is exactly that. It’s where good food, better coffee, and meaningful connections come together. Whether you’re attending an event, hosting your own, or simply seeking a quiet evening with comfort food and a view, Faim offers the perfect rooftop escape in the city.

In a world of fleeting trends and fast-paced dining, Faim Bistro stands out as a space rooted in intention, flavor, and community. It’s not just about satisfying hunger—it’s about feeding the soul.

A Taste of Singapore Elevated: A relaxed afternoon lunch at TIGA, The Leela Hyderabad

Perched on the 9th floor of the opulent The Leela Hyderabad, the newly opened TIGA restaurant brings a luxurious and thoughtfully curated Singaporean dining experience to the city. With panoramic views of Hyderabad’s skyline and interiors that merge modern sophistication with traditional Asian elements, TIGA is ready to establish itself as a culinary destination worth celebrating.

From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was nothing short of exceptional. General Manager Rajesh Gopalkrishnan welcomed us warmly, setting the tone for the evening with a personal touch that is increasingly rare in fine dining. His attention to detail and genuine passion for service shone through every interaction. Alongside him, Chef Shah, who hails from Singapore, masterfully curated our menu, tailoring it thoughtfully to my dietary preferences and allergies.

The lunch began with a glass of red wine, gracefully poured and served as we settled into the ambient surroundings. The restaurant’s interiors are stunning—deep wood tones, subtle gold accents, ambient lighting, and rich textures give TIGA a distinctly upscale yet inviting feel. It’s the kind of place where every corner is Instagram-worthy, yet the focus never shifts away from what truly matters: the food and experience.

Our journey through Singapore began with a specially curated platter of dim sums and baos, each bite bursting with flavor and finesse. The chicken and mushroom baos are worth mentioning. The dim sums, delicate and translucent, hinted at the precision behind their preparation. A standout from this platter was the lamb satay, grilled to perfection and served with perfection.

Next came a comforting lamb soup, which reminded me of a marag; rich with flavor and depth, accompanied by a fresh platter of house-made sauces—each crafted to enhance rather than overpower the dishes. Chef Shah’s attention to balance and seasoning was evident in every element.

For the main course, we indulged in honey-doused prawns—crispy, succulent, very large sized with mild notes sweet, they paired perfectly with the beautifully textured fried rice. Each grain was separate, ensuring satisfaction without overwhelming the palate.

But the undisputed star dish of the evening was the crab in pepper sauce. Served whole and generously coated with a bold, aromatic black pepper glaze, the crab was a showstopper. The pepper sauce, with its complex blend of heat and umami, clung to the sweet crab meat, making every bite an unforgettable experience.

Desserts at TIGA offer a fusion of East and West. The coconut tiramisu was a refreshing tropical twist on the Italian classic, combining creamy mascarpone with a light coconut essence. Alongside it, the crème brûlée, with its perfectly caramelized top and silky vanilla custard beneath, was a classic done right. The gold sprinkle coated blueberries were a delight.

TIGA is more than just a restaurant; it’s an immersive journey through the best of Singaporean cuisine, made remarkable by the team’s dedication to service, quality, and ambiance. With Chef Shah’s culinary artistry and Rajesh Gopalkrishnan’s impeccable hospitality, it promises to become one of Hyderabad’s premier dining destinations.

For those seeking a refined and memorable dining experience—whether for a special occasion, a romantic evening, or simply to explore Singapore through flavor—TIGA at The Leela is a must-visit. From start to finish, the experience is seamless, thoughtful, and utterly delicious.

Caffe Jubilee: The Crown Jewel of Jubilee Hills

Tucked in the heart of upscale Jubilee Hills, Caffe Jubilee redefines the coffee shop experience. It’s not just a café — it’s a carefully crafted space where passion meets innovation, and every sip tells a story.

At the soul of Caffe Jubilee lies its crown offering: the world’s most exclusive coffee, ethically sourced from Brazil’s first coffee farming family. These beans carry the essence of legacy and quality. They make their way to Dubai, where one of the world’s expensive coffee roasters transforms them into a rich, aromatic roast. Served at Caffe Jubilee with precision and ceremony, this coffee is an experience in itself — elegant, rare, and unforgettable.

The culinary offerings at Caffe Jubilee are equally mesmerising, curated to delight an adventurous palate. We began with innovative refreshers like the cold coffee with sprinkles and watermelon mojito — a house favourite, infused with chunks of real watermelon.

The menu unfolds into a vibrant collection of fusion comfort food. The broccoli popcorn is a crispy, golden treat — lightly battered florets served with tangy sauces. For something heartier, the chicken puff pizza combines the airy crispness of puff pastry with melted cheese and richly seasoned chicken, a novel twist on the classic. The Korean chicken wings are spicy, sweet, and utterly addictive.

Breakfast is a grand affair here — the Proper English Breakfast is plated with sizzling sausages, eggs any style, sautéed vegetables, hash browns, grilled tomatoes, baked beans, blanched spinach and toast. Perfect for slow, satisfying mornings or hearty brunch meetings.

Those with a sweet tooth will be enchanted by the Mango Misu — a tropical reinterpretation of the classic tiramisu, crafted using organic Alphonso mangoes and layered with mascarpone and delicate sponge. Light, creamy, and irresistibly fruity, it’s a dessert you’ll return for this season.

But Caffe Jubilee isn’t only about food and drink. The space itself is an experience — a seamless blend of contemporary design, open-air charm, and event-friendly functionality. The outdoor area is fully equipped with a high-definition projector screen and professional sound system, making it an ideal venue for workshops, creative gatherings, corporate events, and live screenings. Whether it’s a product launch or a poetry reading under the stars, the setting adapts beautifully to any vision.

A massive 600-car parking facility adds to the comfort and accessibility, making it a breeze for guests to visit during peak hours or events — a rare convenience in a city known for its space crunch.

In a city buzzing with culinary concepts, Caffe Jubilee stands apart — not just as a coffee shop, but as a destination.

Tranquil Devaaya Retreat

Tucked away on the tranquil Divar Island in Goa, Mercure Devaaya Retreat is a hidden gem that seamlessly blends old-world Portuguese charm with modern comfort. My recent stay there felt like stepping into a serene postcard, with every corner telling a story of peace, wellness, and subtle luxury.

The retreat is set amidst lush greenery, and its Portuguese-style villas—with their arched windows, tiled roofs, and airy verandas—offer an aesthetic charm that’s hard to resist. I was hosted in one of these beautifully appointed villas, which came complete with full amenities and thoughtful touches that made the stay feel indulgent yet homely. Located right by the lake, the retreat offered endless views of still waters and swaying palms, creating the perfect backdrop for moments of quiet reflection.

One of the most memorable experiences was fishing by the lake. We caught a single fish, only to gently release it back into the water—an act that seemed to reflect the retreat’s calm, nurturing energy. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the staff surprised us with an elegant high tea setup right by the lake. With birdsong in the background and a soft breeze in the air, the moment felt like something out of a dream.

Later that night, we were treated to a romantic candlelit dinner by the water—soft lights, great food, and the sound of nature all around. The retreat also offers breakfast in bed, but curiosity led me to their newly renovated restaurant. It was worth it: the space has been tastefully updated while keeping its heritage feel intact, and the food was fresh, local, and delicious.

Divar Island itself is a peaceful escape from Goa’s more tourist-heavy areas. Accessible only by ferry, it adds an extra layer of seclusion and charm to the experience. I spent hours taking long walks around the island—past colorful homes, sleepy churches, and lush paddy fields. It’s a place that encourages you to slow down, breathe deeply, and just be.

Whether you’re looking for wellness, romance, or just time to reconnect with yourself, Mercure Devaaya Retreat offers a perfect sanctuary in the heart of nature.

I loved getting hosted at this beautiful property and can’t wait to go back again.
